Ten Albertan communities have organized rallies today to show the provincial government they care about what happens to funding for vital public services like health care, education, seniors supports and community human services.

In the town hall meetings across the province organized by Join Together Alberta - 17 of which have been completed, with five left to go - Albertans have been voicing their deep concerns about cuts to public services, and sharing their stories of the real human consequences of a system that is already stretched to the limit.

Following these meetings, ten communities have organized budget day rallies at which they will wear scarves made from the Alberta tartan and deliver links of fabric along with messages for the provincial government about the importance of strengthening the fabric of Alberta's communities.
