Read Letter - where is the compassion for the most vulnerable
By barb macgregor

A letter written to Hon. Lindsay Blackett, Calgary-North West
Hello; I am a supportive roommate for two adult developmentally challenged persons and take my position very seriously as a front line provider for their basic living supports.THey both look so forward to each day and being included in community involvement. For some of the routines and expectations they have been privileged to look forward to be stripped away from them will only bring discouragement and frustration to their lives.THerefore a domino effect on those around them and in their lives. They contribute so much to our community in volunteering as well as working in many cases therefore are mentally and emotionally healthier individuals living with self-worth,where not as many medications have to be prescribed if they may eventually become anxious and depressed because of drastic changes in their lives. So therefore costing the province more money in the long run anyways.Who these cuts in services and allocations of monies benefits certainly aren't the most vulnerable members of our society. This appears to be so disappointing and unbeleivable in a province such as Alberta. Its appears like that motto the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is surreal. What a shame and a selfish society Alberta is becoming.
