Read Letter - Public Services
By Brad Jones
Written Jan. 15, 2010
A letter written to Hon. Dave Hancock, Edmonton-Whitemud
Dear Dave Hancock: Cutting public services will unravel the fabric that keeps our local communities healthy and strong. Study after study has proven that a strong public service and investment in public infrastructure is the best way to keep our businesses competitive and our local communities thriving. There is no reason to cut – Alberta is still in better financial shape than almost any other jurisdiction in North America. I call on Premier Stelmach to invest, not cut, our public services like public health care and education. Cuts are just ideological, mean-spirited, short-sighted and will hurt the most vulnerable. The answer is to keep our public services strong, which in turn, will strengthen our economy. Thanks for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Brad Jones
