Read Letter - Albertans want a government that cares about those with special needs.
By Wayne Clauson
Written Feb. 02, 2010
A letter written to Mr. Greg Weadick, Lethbridge-West
Dear Mr. Weadick, I am a parent of a special needs daughter who is assisted by AISH, and am writing to express my concern about any possible cuts in funding for programs that support special needs individuals. I am fully aware of the 'tough economic times' this province is facing. It is important for the government to realize that any hardships we are facing, are magnified many times for individuals trying to survive on AISH. What the Alberta government is providing for the special needs community is, I believe, recognized by all Albertans and is certainly appreciated by the recipients. However, make no mistake, if this government cuts funding to our most vulnerable citizens, Albertan's disapproval will be evident at the polls. I urge you Mr. Weadick to do the right thing, and protect the funding for special needs individuals.
