Read Letter - Public Services in Our Province
By Catherine Jevic
Written Feb. 17, 2010
A letter written to Mr. Hugh MacDonald, Edmonton-Gold Bar
Good Day Mr.Hugh MacDonald I'm writing you today concerning the startling cuts to public services announced in the latest budget. I'm dismayed to hear how much money has been cut from these vital services. Mr. MacDonald, as my representative, I need you to make my voice heard on this matter. I need you to let our leadership know that I do not believe these cuts were responsible in the long, or even short, term. I need you to take action for me. A problem is only a problem if you have a solution. My solution; tax appropriately. Get rid of the flat Alberta tax, and raise them if need be. Tax industry according to what they actually take from us, as a province. Cut out the huge subsidies provided to them and put it back into what matters, your constituents public services. Thank you for your time, I hope to see you speaking for me in the coming months.
